About Us
Lisa Vooys is the Founder of Oak Ridge Legal Search LLC. She has over 30 years of experience in the legal industry. Most recently, she was responsible for the internal legal recruiting function for two growing and thriving law firms. In that capacity, she developed recruiting strategies that helped the firms find the best candidate for each opportunity. She also saw first hand the common mistakes that candidates and agencies made when submitting application materials for consideration, and felt compelled to start this agency where she could work directly with both candidates and firms to help them succeed.
Lisa is a graduate of the University of Hartford, where she received a B.S. in Legal Studies and M.S. in Organizational Behavior. She started her legal career as a Litigation Paralegal where she was an integral part of the case/trial team meeting and exceeding their clients’ objectives. Concurrent with her move into the legal recruiting area, she also worked on professional development initiatives and managed the paralegal staff for an AmLaw 200 firm. She has extensive experience working with attorneys and paralegals, providing counseling, coaching, training, and general encouragement as they strive to meet their professional goals. Knowing that she has helped someone meet their personal goals and further their enjoyment in their profession has always been the favorite part of her job.
Lisa resides in Connecticut and is the proud mother of two grown sons, two cats and a Golden Retriever. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her partner (Troy), traveling, working on crossword puzzles, making endless lists, watching movies, and writing.
